One thing I love about this recipe is not only how easy it is to make, but that it’s made entirely of pantry-friendly ingredients.
I always keep chocolate, trail mix, pretzels and granola on hand for whenever I might need them, and especially if I need a quick sweet treat!
I also love how customizable this recipe is – use anything you have in your pantry that would taste good – mixed nuts, candy, chips, sprinkles, cereal, marshmallows, peanut butter, white chocolate, the list is endless!
Seeds, Nuts, Fruit and Granola Bark
Chocolate bark has always been a favorite road trip snack for me and my family – it’s like trail mix but even better!
It’s perfect to make and throw into little baggies and just keep in the cooler for when you need it.
Also ideal for picnics, birthdays, showers, holidays and more – you can always change the toppings to match any theme or flavor combination.
I made this bark using my favorite granola – Bakery on Main’s Decadent Cookie Monster Granola!
It’s been my go-to granola for so many recipes lately, and I also love adding it to oatmeal, yogurt, chia pudding and more.
It has 16g of whole grains per serving, and is filled with dark chocolate, nuts and sprinkles, and is Certified Gluten-Free, Kosher Parve, Non-GMO Project Verified, Vegan and Whole Grain Council Approved.
INGREDIENTS
- Dark Chocolate – I’ve found that most dark chocolate chips are dairy free, just be sure to check!
- Mixed Nuts, Seeds & Dried Fruit – Feel free to use your favorite trail mix for this!
- Granola – Granola adds such a nice crunch and texture to chocolate bark.
- Pretzels – I love pretzel pieces in this recipe, they add texture and a little saltiness.
- Flaky Salt – This it optional, but add a little flaky salt if you want extra salty flavor!
How to Make Homemade Chocolate Bark
Preparing the Chocolate
To prepare your dark chocolate for this recipe, simply place it in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30 second increments.
Stir well in between each heating until the chocolate is nice and smooth.
Pour onto a baking tray covered in either parchment paper or a silicone baking mat, and spread out until it’s roughly 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, in a rectangle shape.
Adding the Toppings
Add your toppings all around the chocolate in an even layer.
Gently press them down just a bit, and then place the baking tray into the fridge to set for at least 15-20 minutes.
It may take a little longer depending on the thickness of your bark, but just be sure it’s set.
Serving Chocolate Almond Bark
Finally, use a spatula to help remove the set chocolate from the baking tray, and transfer to a cutting board.
Cut in different angles to create mismatched bite-sized pieces, then place in a serving bowl or plate and enjoy!
STORING
I highly recommend keeping the bark in an airtight container in the fridge – this will help avoid any melting or sticking and I think the texture is also nicer when it’s chilled!
Easy Dairy Free Chocolate Dessert
This vegan chocolate bark recipe is arguably one of the easiest last-minute desserts to make ever – it can be chilling in under 10 minutes and is an easy crowd-pleasing treat.
