The trick to making delicious dark chocolate strawberries, is adding a little coconut oil to the chocolate.

This helps it be super smooth and delicious, makes the chocolate extra thick, and helps it stay together when you bite.

Also, use the best strawberries you can find–the combination of ripe strawberries and delicious dark chocolate is a match made in heaven!

Dairy Free Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Making these dairy-free is really as easy as subbing in dark chocolate chips for milk chocolate.

Most dark chocolate is already vegan, but many stores are also now carrying vegan milk chocolate chips if you’d prefer!

You can also use this dipping chocolate recipe for any fruit, pretzels, or cookies you need a chocolate coating on!

INGREDIENTS

  • Strawberries – Try to find the ripest strawberries.

  • Coconut Oil – This really helps with the texture of the chocolate when you bite the strawberries–everything won’t crumble and fall apart!

How to Make Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Making the Vegan Dipping Chocolate

To make a simple vegan melting chocolate, you only need two ingredients!

The best dark chocolate chips you can fine, with some coconut oil mixed in to help the chocolate stay together when you bite into the strawberries.

If you’ve ever had a chocolate covered strawberry that crumbled to pieces after the first bite, you know how important this is!

Dipping Vegan Chocolate Strawberries

To begin, rinse your strawberries and then pat them dry very well–you don’t want any amount of moisture left on them because the chocolate will not stick well if there is.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.

Place the chocolate chips and the coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30 second increments, mixing in between, until smooth.

Holding the stem of a strawberry, dip it into the chocolate mixture, swirl it around to coat as high as you can, then pull up and transfer to prepared pan to set. Some stems may be weaker on some strawberries, you can always hold the top of the berry instead, you just won’t get coating all the way up to the top, which is okay too!

Place in the fridge to set (at least 15-30 minutes), then enjoy!
